The problem is to select one of two possible routes: Route A (Rt. 23) or Route B ("the back- roads" ). The alternatives converge about halfway to work (blue point). Travel after the point of convergence should be the same regardless of whether Route A or Route B'was selected, so we only measure travel times to that point.
